In spring it became known that the cultic adventures of Shenmue and Shenmue II will be reissued on modern platforms. And now it turned out that the premiere on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will take less than two months - on August 21.
During the April announcement, SEGA announced only that it will release the games before the end of the year. And, quite unexpectedly, without waiting for official statements from the publisher, Microsoft opened in its digital store the receipt of preliminary orders for the version for Xbox One. And it became known that the reissues will be released on August 21. Well, since SEGA plans to release versions for all platforms simultaneously, it is clear that this date is also relevant for a PC with a PlayStation 4. Note that the price of a set of two games on the Xbox One $29.99 .
The action of the first part takes place in 1986. The story of Shenmue tells of Ryou Hazuki, a teenager who is keen on jujitsu. One day, after returning to his father's dojo, he witnesses his murder by a Chinese named Lan Di. The offender kidnaps the mysterious artifact Dragon Mirror. Ryo swears to avenge the death of his father and starts on the trail of Lan Di, starting his own investigation. In the sequel, Ryo continues to search for the lost artifact, gradually unraveling his secrets - the evidence leads our hero to Hong Kong.
The reissue will offer an updated user interface, support for widescreen resolutions and Japanese voiceovers (for Shenmue - for the first time outside of the home market).
