The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), according to web sources, declassified Samsung's patent documentation describing an unusual smartphone.
It is about the device, focused on the shooting of self-portraits. According to the idea of the South Korean giant, the device will be equipped with a flexible display, enveloping the upper part of the case and shifting to the back side.
In this case, as shown in the illustrations, the screen will occupy only about a quarter of the rear panel of the case. Under the display is a camera.
It is assumed that this design will allow owners to use the main camera for self-shooting: in this case, the rear of the display will perform the function of the viewfinder.
In addition, any information can be output to the back of the screen. The display space in the upper end of the case can be used to display any pictograms.
Whether Samsung plans to release commercial devices with the described design is not clear. While the company only patents the relevant development and the possibility of its practical application is not reported.
